BIG DAY OF GIVING MAY 2

The annual Big Day of Giving (BDOG) is just around the corner.  BDOG is an opportunity for those who love Woodland to contribute to the organizations of their choosing that are striving to make Woodland a better place to live.

The Woodland Tree Foundation (WT) is one of those organizations.  We have been around since 2000 and have planted over 6000 trees with the help of many, many volunteers.  Folks, young and old, from Woodland, Davis, Sacramento, other Yolo County towns, and even students from Africa, have come to help us plant trees.

We are an all- volunteer non-profit organization whose goal is to “Build Community through Canopy”.  The past few years we worked with the City of Woodland, California ReLeaf, and PG &E to plant trees in city parking lots, at schools, parks, and private residents.  These plantings will enhance the beauty of Woodland, and will provide shade for home-owners, shoppers, schools, and park lovers.

The official day of BDOG is Thursday, May 2nd, and early contributions can be made now. If you would like to make a donation to the Woodland Tree Foundation, simply visit this page. There are a variety of other local organizations that you may wish to donate to during the Big Day of Giving and you can locate them by visiting this page and using the search box to find your favorites.

We hope you will be able to donate to WT, and maybe even come out and help us with a tree planting.  All are welcome.  We plan to have Shade Tree plantings this spring and more in the fall.
